Accommodation on the Farm
In the heart of the Southwest, 15km south of Nannup, nestled between pristine jarrah forest and rolling hills of farm land, Chestnut Cottage is a peaceful rural retreat offering an unique tranquil haven. Chestnut Cottage is perfect for relaxing, reading, star-gazing, bird watching, bush walking, cycling, exploring the south west region, watching kangaroos and emus at the start and end of each day and providing your children with the opportunity to connect with nature and learn where their food comes from.
The cottage has pine raked ceilings, slate floor and comprises 2 queen size bedrooms, a separate bunk room with two double bunks complete with all bedding requirements. It has 1 bathroom with a shower and a spa bath to relax in. The dining room has a beautiful jarrah table and chairs, the lounge room has a sofa where you can snuggle up in front of the wood burning fire and enjoy the ambience of flickering flames during a cosy winter escape. There is a small library of books, board games and Satellite TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, tea / coffee making facilities, four burner gas cooktop, electric oven, microwave and fridge. There is a gas barbecue on the verandah and a Portacot and high chair are available at no charge. All you need to bring is your own food and refreshments.
Panoramic views of the farm can be enjoyed from the upstairs balcony where it is lovely to sit and chat at the end of the day enjoying nibbles of chestnuts and a glass of local wine. You can smell the freshness in the air at Chestnut Cottage and drink the spring water. It is a perfect location to sit back, relax, recharge and experience tranquility.
The cottage and all rooms are non-smoking. Please remember that this is a working farm, we have three unfenced dams and free-range animals, and your children are your responsibility, you must supervise your children at all times.
The cottage is centrally located for wineries, restaurants, Lavender Farm, marron farms, Nannup Heritage Trail, Timberline Trail, A Taste of Nannup, Munda Biddi Cycle Trail, Harvest Highway, Bibbulmun Track, karri forests, coast and tourist centres.
A selection of cafes and restaurants are 15-minutes drive away in Nannup. Free range eggs (when our girls are laying) and chestnut-fed nitrate-free bacon is available for purchase if you require a hearty breakfast. If you require chestnut fed pork, chestnut fed lamb or roasted chestnuts to be put out of the freezer ready for you to cook or eat when you arrive, please let us know in advance.
The first night’s accommodation will be charged if a booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival.
